Thanks for asking! I'll be able to offer a stronger answer if you can help me narrow down the cross street or neighborhood. With just Maple Street to work with it's a pretty broad search even with the Newsbank Omaha World-Herald database.

My best blind guess was a fire that severely damaged a structure at 8823 Maple St. overnight November 2nd of 1987. The building housed Action Sports N Sail as well as "a restaurant" that I haven't been able to identify. But longtime Omaha residents probably remember that building as the Tomahawk Inn until the early 1980s or El Bees Mexican restaurant in the early-mid 1980s.

Shoot us an email if you can help narrow down the neighborhood and we'll go from there, or call 402-444-4825 for more assistance. Thanks for using AskOPL!
