I doing research recarding Benjamin Hardin Irwin, founder of the Fire Baptized Assocation. I understand that he was seen a less than favorable set of circumstances and that it was reported in the Omaha paper. The event would have occured in April or May 1900. Can you help me locate the newspaper story. I understand his picture accompanied the event. Thank you. William Snider, Homestead, FL

I am emailing the only mention of the Fire Baptized Association that I find in the Omaha World Herald--it was in 1899. Nothing about Benjamin Irwin. I also looked in the Omaha Bee, but you might have more luck with different search terms--that can be searched for free up through 1916 at Chronicling America--a site I highly recommend!

It appears that this organization was located in Pennsylvania? Was Mr. Irwin an Omaha resident?

Best wishes,
