Q

I'm trying to renew a book I rented that is due today, but the system won't let me renew. Thanks.

Answer

Thanks for asking! It appears that the book in question is a seven-day rental book. That collection has some peculiar rules - since it costs $1.00 to check out for one week, it cannot be renewed except in person. I have pushed the due date to tomorrow, 5/26, to give you a chance to return it or decide to check it out again. If you are close to being done with the book, it may make more sense to return it a day or two overdue and pay the $.25/day overdue fine, but if you still have a ways to go you can bring the book to any library and pay an additional $1.00 to check it out for another full week.
