Q

I downloaded Divergent on audio. The only option was MP3. Am I not able to get that on my Kindle? How do I go about getting it on my Kindle?

Answer

Thanks for asking! The answer will depend on your Kindle. If you're using a Kindle Fire, you can open and play downloadable audiobooks using the Overdrive App, which is available through the Amazon App Store. For that, the MP3 audiobook format is exactly what you're looking for - in fact, you'll use the App to browse the library ebook collection, check out materials, and download them right to your device.

If you have an earlier generation Kindle - Paperwhite and older, more or less - then you will only be able to use Kindle ebooks from the library. The older Kindles don't have the software needed to work with our downloadable audiobooks.

See these articles from Overdrive's support section for more information, and feel free to call 402-444-4800 or bring your Kindle to your neighborhood library for assistance.

Thank you for using AskOPL!
