You can read ebooks on your desktop.  You will need to have an Omaha Public Library card and an internet connection on your computer. 

Click here will take you to step by step instruction for reading ebooks on your computer.

You will be able to download books to your PC or Mac and read them via Adobe Digital Editions.

You can read EPUB format eBooks and PDF format eBooks.

You will need:

  • Adobe Digital Editions(free software available from Adobe)
  • An Adobe ID(publishing industry ID standard that opens access to free library eBooks)
  • Step-by-step instructions on the right
