I downloaded an ebook that will not open in overdrive or by adobe reader. (It is supposed to be in pdf format) When I search for it using the overdrive program, the book is listed but does not let me do anything except request a hold. How do I read it?
the file format is .acsm

Answer

Make sure that you did not accidently download a Kindle version (sounds like you did not) of the ebook in question if you are using an iPad, Windows, or Android based device. The Kindle ebook files only work on a Kindle device.

Also, if you are trying to read this file on a Kindle, pdf files will not read on thsse devices.

An acsm file should be readable if your device is Windows, Android, or Apple operating system.
