Thanks for asking! In this case it's not your library membership but our HeritageQuest membership that has ended. We had access to HeritageQuest through the Nebraska Library Commission. Recently, they decided to change subscription packages, so some familiar databases are being replaced by new ones. The replacement for HeritageQuest will be a product called MyHeritage - it's a good, solid database that will offer most of the collections you're used to and some new tools, but there's been a little bit of a delay getting it ready to go. It should appear soon in our Resource Center.

So for a little, inconvenient stretch here we're without a genealogy subscription that can be accessed outside the library. If you haven't tried the free tools available at FamilySearch.org they might help bridge the gap, or you can visit your neighborhood library to use our Ancestry subscription. I apologize for the inconvenience! It's great that the Commission offers databases for all Nebraska residents and libraries, but it can be tough when decisions about what to keep are out of our hands. But I think you'll find MyHeritage useful once it's up and running!

Please feel free to call 402-444-4800 with additional questions, and thanks for using AskOPL!
