Checking out books on OverDrive when I live in Council Bluffs.

I live in Council Bluffs and I am also signed up for OverDrive. If I just want to get books on OverDrive from the Omaha Public Libary do I have to pay the $75.00 year to do it. I would not be going to the libary to check out books it would just be on on OverDrive. How does this work.

I tried to call the 402-444-4800 # and they just keep repeting the hours. This was at 2:59 pm.

Thank you

I'm sorry you weren't able to get an answer to your yesterday--the library was closed for annual staff training.

Yes, I'm afraid the only way to download Omaha Public Library books via Overdrive is if you have an Omaha Public Library card. You do have the option to buy just a 4-month membership for $25, if that is more convenient.

And of course you can download books from the Council Bluffs Overdrive collection with your Council Bluffs library card. They probably have many of the same downloadable books as we do.

I hope this helps!

Best wishes,
