I am looking for books about history of World War II Operation Varsity, the last airborne assault of WW II. Does OPL have anything in its collection?

Thanks for asking! It doesn't appear that we have any of the handful of books written specifically about Operation Varsity, though we could certainly pursue them for you through inter-library loan. I will, however, offer a few titles we do carry that might touch close enough to the event to be worth looking into.

General or focused histories of the late European theater, The Guns at Last Light, Battle for the Siegfried Line, Masters and Commanders

Silent Wings, a history of glider operations in WWII - though sight unseen I can't confirm that it will feature Varsity, given the prominent role of gilders in the battle I'd be a little surprised if it didn't.

One of the stray pieces of our government documents collection is an Army publication, Airborne Operations: A German Appraisal. It's a really interesting piece that's also available online in full-text

Otherwise I'd probably look to outside resources like the US Army Center of Military History or the National Museum of the US Army. Thanks for your interest! Please feel free to email back or call 402-444-4800 with further questions.
