Answer

Thanks for contacting us! I was unable to find a book of that exact title, but there certainly seems to be a rich tradition of local and regional histories of the Minisink. One particularly well-known version is Charles Stickney's 1867 History of the Minisink Region, which is readily available online. You may also find it worthwhile to browse through this list of titles from the Minisink Valley Historical Society, or contact the historical society directly. If the 'Remarkable Settlement' is especially rare and not indexed in inter-library indexes like WorldCat, they may have the local connections necessary to steer you along.

One way or another, it's definitely not a title we have in the Omaha Public Library collection - we've just got one stray book on Minisink church records - so if you are able to match the title and author from the list above we could pursue it for you through inter-library loan. Please feel free to email back with further questions, or call 402-444-4857 if you're curious about the inter-library loan process. Thanks again!
