Q

Paying a fine

I believe I have an old fine I need to pay to the Omaha Public Library for books that were never returned. How would I do that and would I be able to renew my old library card?

Answer

To pay a fine for books it would be best for you to come into your nearest branch.  When you come in we can accept cash, check, or visa/mastercard to take care of any fines.  Once the fines are taken care of your current photo ID with correct address will be what we need to renew the library card to full privileges.

If you still have the books that were not returned, bringing them back now will mean you only pay the overdue fine and not the full price of the item.  Click here for information on our circulation rules, including the overdue fine structure.
