Answer

Thanks for asking! Go ahead and bring the book back to us at any library location. Once we check the book in, the charge that you're seeing now - for the replacement cost of the book - will be reduced to just an overdue fine, probably $5.00. So definitely bring the book in first, and we'll figure out how to take care of the rest.

Just so you know in case you ever lose-lose a book, or if you borrow a book from us and it gets badly damaged (and don't worry, I've done both a few times over the years) don't buy a replacement copy on your own and bring that to us. We buy and package our books in a special way, so we can't take what are called "in kind" replacements, it's just a charge that has to be paid. Don't want you paying twice for the same book!

But in this case, that won't matter at all - just bring the book in to any library, and you'll be all set. Please feel free to give us a call at 402-444-4800 if you have any questions!
