I am a resident of Sarpy County but I attend Metro Community College. Do I still have a library card fee? Or what do you need from the school to show that I am an active student?

Thanks for asking! As long as you're actively enrolled at Metro Community College you'll be eligible for full privileges with Omaha Public Library. It's part of the working relationship we've developed with the college, not least because their library system shares our database. Each quarter they upload records for active students, so if that has worked correctly you shouldn't need anything else to verify your enrollment - just drop by any of our locations with a driver's license or other photo ID, we can add an Omaha Public Library barcode to your MCC account, and you'll be off and running.

Free access to OPL resources and materials will end once you're no longer taking classes at Metro, but in the mean time we'll be glad to have you with us! Please feel free to email back or call 402-444-4800 with any questions. If you find that you haven't been added into our database as an MCC student, I'd recommend you contact the MCC South Campus Library at 402-738-4506.
