You can get a online obituary from the Omaha World Herald from November 1998 to the present. To access this you will need an Omaha Public Library card.  Go to our homepage Click on the Resource Center tab it will bring up three columns. In the far left category column click on NEWSPAPERS. In the center databases column click on NEWSBANK. It will be highlighted in the details column. Click on SEARCH. It will display a list of newspapers. Click on the Omaha World Herald link. The basic search page will become visible. In the first search dialog box, leave it on ALL TEXT. In the second dialog box, type in the deceased person's name. In the third dialog box (boolean search), click on AND. In the SEARCH WITHIN box click on DATE. In the box to the right, enter your date parameters. Click on the red search box. Note: Obits are not legally required to appear in the newspaper.
